About the Monser Range

"Monser" is the first range that reunites only pure Romanian varieties. Presently, it is the most complete collection of pure Romanian varieties.

The wines from Monser are the most accurate representation of the real Romanian vine-growing tradition. In picking the name of the range, the starting point was that, traditionally, good wines in Romania were made by the old bourgeois and not the peasants.

Considering the fact that the Romanian varieties are pre-phyloxera, the name of the range, borrowed from a famous character from Caragiale's writings, was chosen to illustrate the atmosphere in Romania before the 1900s.

"La Belle Epoque" of Romania, is emphasized by the motto on the label: "Soiuri pure romanesti pentru boieri si obrazuri subtiri" - which in English translates: "Pure Romanian varieties for bourgeois and thin cheeks".

About the Monser range label

The drawing on the label recreates the atmosphere from more than 100 years ago, when local nobles were enjoying the wine produced in their own vineyards.

About this wine

The wine shows deep ruby red colours, before offering blueberry and blackberry flavors, combined with smoked plums and spices like cinnamon and allspice.

The taste offers green tanins, which are covered by the fruitiness of the wine. The lasting taste is dominated by acidity which offer the wine a plus at youth and casualness.

Recommended food

This wine goes well with light cheeses and dishes of beef and mouton.
